The Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs face off in an AFC offensive showdown filled with intriguing storylines. Here’s everything you need to know.

Welcome to the new chapter. After years of postseason frustration for the Kansas City Chiefs, Saturday’s game against the visiting Indianapolis Colts represents a turn of the proverbial page—a chance to win for the first time at home at Arrowhead Stadium in the NFL playoffs in decades. Their ability to do so is directly related to employing a new quarterback, one who is the favorite for NFL MVP after only 17 total games under center.

However, for the Chiefs to proclaim victory and inspire a sea of red and gold, they’re going to have to top the visiting challengers, a Colts team that is hotter than perhaps any other franchise in the NFL. After a tough 1-5 start, Frank Reich and company have reversed course on a ship set for another top draft pick. Instead, the Colts have shown toughness and determination in 2018 and are proving the reclamation project started by Chris Ballard is well ahead of schedule.

The Chiefs are the No. 1 seed against the visiting No. 6 seed, but the Colts are going to be a difficult out. Andrew Luck had a season to remember and can keep up with the Chiefs in a shootout, especially since he’s helped by tight end Eric Ebron, running back Marlon Mack and, of course, wideout T.Y. Hilton. The offensive line has been suffocating on opposing pass rushers, and the Colts own defense has shown up strong down the stretch.

Just last week, the Colts dominated the Houston Texans on the road to win in the Wild Card round, and NFL history shows the Colts have never lost in four games to K.C. in the postseason. Still these Chiefs have proven dangerous against every team and claimed the top spot in the AFC for good reason.
