Oddsmakers in Vegas have listed the Kansas City Chiefs as six-point favorites over the Indianapolis Colts in the teams’ upcoming playoff game.

If you ask oddsmakers in charge of setting the lines for Saturday’s upcoming playoff game between the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs, there seems to be little concern for playoff ghosts gone by. Instead, they have the Chiefs opening at six-point favorites at the start of the week.

The Chiefs have several factors going for them and it begins with the fact that they are hosting the game at Arrowhead. The Colts already impressed with a road win over the Houston Texans last week, but that also means the Chiefs are well-rested and feeling healthy after an extra bye week compared to the sixth-seeded Colts who have had to claw for any late-season momentum after starting the year with a 1-5 record.

In addition, the Chiefs have the frontrunner for Most Valuable Player in Patrick Mahomes under center, the sort of playmaker the Chiefs have never had before in the postseason. Mahomes is surrounded by an All-Pro cast of playmakers, and he will now have a healthy cast all around him. That means Sammy Watkins and Spencer Ware will hopefully return to bolster the offense in front of an offensive line that’s coming together for the first time since Week 5 if Laurent Duvernay-Tardif can return.

dark. Next. Why the Colts should fear the Chiefs

The Chiefs have lost to the Colts in embarrassing fashion in years past, and K.C. fans might have a hard time turning into true believers when the team’s history is so filled with failure. However, Mahomes represents a new day. Vegas says they believe in the Chiefs’ ability to get to the Conference Championship game. Hopefully, that’s a sign of things to come.
