Taylor Swift brings even greater spotlight to Chiefs football (which is a good thing)

After rumors swirled for weeks that Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was seeing world famous singer/songwriter Taylor Swift, Swift appeared in Kelce's private suite at Arrowhead Stadium this past weekend when the Chiefs took on the Chicago Bears. Swift was seated right next to Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, where the two spent the day chatting it up and cheering on Kelce who had 7 catches for 69 yards and a touchdown versus Chicago.

To even further cement the fact that the relationship between Kelce and Swift is for real, the two were spotted leaving the stadium together after the game.

It would be pretty crazy at this point if the two weren't a real couple. There was banter from everyone including news outlets to Travis Kelce himself on the Pat McAfee Show admitting that he had invited Swift to attend his next game at Arrowhead. Kelce's brother Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, had even dropped a hint on the two's "New Heights Podcast" that he was pretty sure the relationship was real.

Since Swift's appearance at Arrowhead, Kansas City has benefitted tremendously from the acknowledgement of the relationship from both NFL fans and Taylor Swift fans across the nation. Since Swift has become associated with Travis Kelce and the Chiefs, viewership for Chiefs-Bears topped out at over 24 million viewers. For perspective, Sunday Night Football, the primetime slot, only hit 19 million viewers. So, a random blowout game in the afternoon slot still blew out the ratings of the day's biggest game. We all know why.

Not only that, but tickets sales for the Kansas City Chiefs have soared since it was announced that Swift would be in attendance. Several ticket sales outlets have reported three-fold increases in sales and the most tickets sold in a single day since the 2023 season began. The Taylor Swift effect is what they're calling it.

To top it all off, Travis Kelce saw his jersey and Chiefs merchandise sales increase by nearly 400% since this past Sunday. You read that right. Four. Hundred. Percent.

Taylor Swift's fans, also known as "Swifties" due their passionate and almost insane fandom, are notorious for closely following the personal life of their favorite artist. Now, all eyes are on Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs. Like it or not, but the Swifties have infiltrated Chiefs Kingdom.
