5. A touchdown in Vegas

On the surface, this play might look fairly straightforward (by Chiefs and Mahomes standards, anyway), but it is its significance that has it on this list.

McKinnon joined an elite group when he caught this two-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes in the final game of the regular season against the Raiders. It was the sixth game in a row that McKinnon had a receiving touchdown, a remarkable feat in itself.

What made it even more remarkable was the fact that it was also his eighth receiving TD in that six-game span – a feat only ever accomplished by Antonio Brown, Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Travis Kelce, Cooper Kupp, and Mike Evans. That is some pretty darn good company.

The touchdown catch was McKinnon’s ninth on the season, the same number of receiving TDs that Ja’Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper, and Tyler Lockett had. It was also more than a whole host of other star receivers reeling in including Justin Jefferson, Christian Kirk and Jaylen Waddle (eight), Gabe Davis, Tee Higgins, Tyreek Hill, D.J. Moore and DeVonta Smith, Mike Evans and T.J. Hockenson (six).

Not bad for a backup running back.
