On Tuesday, it was announced that Jerick McKinnon was officially returning to the Kansas City Chiefs. It was a move made sense for both parties.
And, just as it should have been, the announcement was met with both praise and fanfare from across Chiefs Kingdom.
McKinnon was added as a depth piece before the 2021 season, and after signing on again for 2022, he became a vital part of Kansas City’s offense—both with the ball in his hands and without.
The 30-year-old McKinnon had 9 receiving touchdowns and 10 TDs overall last season, the second most of any Chiefs player. The former Viking and 49er became practically unstoppable towards the end of the season too as he found the end zone in six consecutive games, scoring eight touchdowns in that span.
Of course, McKinnon is also known for his awesome abilities as a pass blocker, a skill that is infinitely valuable in an offense that includes Patrick Mahomes.
2022 was the best season of McKinnon’s career and he got to cap it all off with a Super Bowl championship. To celebrate his return to Kansas City, here are the top five plays McKinnon had last season.
