Las Vegas Raiders

Good lord the Raiders can’t get out of their own way. It truly is incredible that a team with as much talent on paper as the Raiders can play as poorly and put themselves into such bad situations as the Raiders. The Seahawks have been an interesting team this season behind Geno Smith and certainly put up a fight – one observation I had is that watching the Raiders and Seahawks on my tv was a terrible color matchup. Did anyone else feel like they were watching in black and white?

Regardless, this one went into overtime. Hats off to Josh Jacobs who ripped off an 86-yard touchdown run in overtime for the Raider walk-off. The contract year is undefeated.

Jacobs was playing through a calf injury and still made the Seahawks’ defense look dumb. Derek Carr was injured on a play and then came back to score a touchdown – truly this team is weird. Sitting at 4/7, the Raiders are probably out of any real competition for a playoff spot, but they can certainly play spoiler to a team looking to lock up a playoff spot (Chargers) or a number one seed (Chiefs).

The biggest injury to watch is Josh Jacobs – he left the game at one point and returned, but likely will see limited reps/practice this week in hopes that the upcoming divisional game will see another huge performance.

On Sunday, the Raiders and Chargers square off and I see this as a desperation game for the Chargers and a spoiler game for the Raiders. This actually could be a fun one and I think the Raiders ultimately pull it out and play spoiler for the Chargers.
