Notable Rookies

This year, the Oakland Raiders ruled the first day of the draft with three first round picks, and, as much as I hate to say it, the Raiders took some potentially great players.

With their first pick, Oakland selected Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell. This was a lot higher than people thought he should go—*cough* Josh Allen *cough*—but if he can be productive, he will sort of fill the hole left by Khalil Mack.

The Raiders also took Josh Jacobs, a running back out of Alabama, with the 24th overall selection. He is a physical back that will help provide a good balance to the explosiveness of Antonio Brown.

Finally, they drafted safety Johnathan Abram from Mississippi State. He is loud mouthed and hits hard and he could be a great weapon if they utilize him properly.

In the second round, the Raiders drafted Trayvon Mullen, a corner from Clemson. He will be tasked with having to cover explosive speed from the Chiefs twice a year.

The Raiders rounded out their draft class by selecting Maxx Crosby, a defensive end from Eastern Michigan in the fourth round, Isaiah Johnson, a corner from Houston in the fourth round, Foster Moreau, a tight end from LSU in the fourth round, Hunter Renfrow, a wide receiver from Clemson in the fifth round, and Quinton Bell, a defensive end from Prairie View A&M in the seventh round.

The Raiders were graded average to slightly above average so we will see how this draft class pans out.
