The Kansas City Chiefs offense can now boast four first-team All-Pro members as the league further honors the team’s incredible year.

The Kansas City Chiefs had a whopping four members of this year’s first-team All-Pro offense as announced today by The Associated Press.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, right tackle Mitch Schwartz and tight end Travis Kelce were all named to the AP’s first-team unit, a tremendous honor that matters far more than Pro Bowl to players and Hall of Fame voters for its exclusivity.

For Mahomes, it’s an obvious first appearance on an NFL All-Pro team given it’s his first year starting in the NFL. He’s expected to also take home the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award when announced, rewards all for a memorable year from the quarterback. Mahomes joined the rare 50/5,000 club in 2018 with totals of 50 touchdowns and 5,097 passing yards to go along with a league-leading 82.9 QBR and 113.8 passer rating.

Hill was named first-team All-Pro back in his rookie season of 2016 as well, although that season he was listed as a returner. It’s a testament to the Chiefs coaching staff and Hill’s own tremendous work ethic that he’s developed into a feared wideout as well. He’s also made three straight Pro Bowls. Hill ended the year by setting the Chiefs single-season record for most receiving yards with 1,479.

This is Kelce’s second time to be named first-team All-Pro in his career although he’s made five Pro Bowls to date. Kelce is widely regarded as the NFL’s best tight end not named Rob Gronkowski, and given Gronk’s health concerns, some people would still go with Kelce. Kelce also set a Chiefs record this year for most receptions in a single season.

After earning three straight second-team All-Pro nods, Schwartz is now a member of the first team for the first time in his career. Schwartz also made his first Pro Bowl this season. The ironman has been a hero on the right side of the Chiefs line ever since he arrived as a free agent in 2016.
