Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders took on the Seattle Seahawks in London on Sunday to begin the international stretch of games in the NFL. The Raiders continued their miserable season in a 27-3 loss to the Seahawks.

Russell Wilson threw three touchdowns in this latest stomping of the Raiders, dropping the Raiders to 1-5. Derek Carr threw 23 of 31 for 142 yards and was sacked six times. Marshawn Lynch posted an unimpressive 45 yards on 13 carries. Oakland missed a field goal chance early and didn’t actually post points until there were just over 8 minutes left in the game. The Raiders just couldn’t get anything to work.

The Raiders came out of London with some significant injuries. The first was to Derek Carr. He left the game with 8:52 left in the fourth quarter with a left arm injury. Videos have surfaced showing what appears to be the actual breaking point of the Raiders. Has Jon Gruden finally broken them?

Amari Cooper left the game with 13:40 remaining in the second quarter after a vicious hit from Bradley McDougald. McDouglad will probably get fined but no penalty was thrown during the play which is confusing. It is also being reported that Marshawn Lynch has a concerning groin strain. Left guard Joe Feliciano, who was starting for Kelechi Osemele left the game late in the second quarter with a rib injury and wide receiver Seth Roberts also left the game with a concussion.

The Raiders also made a move that has been widely reported. They have cut former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson. I personally don’t believe we should even consider bringing him back as a player, but the debate is out there. Then again, Andy Reid likely put the topic to rest.

Lucky for the Raiders, they are entering their bye week. They most definitely need it to give themselves time to heal.
