Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos took on the undefeated Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Denver and continued their disappointing season.
On this wintry day, the Rams handed the Broncos their fourth loss of the season to remain the only undefeated team in the NFL heading into Week 7. The Denver defense could do absolutely nothing against Todd Gurley. He rushed for a career-high 208 yards and 2 touchdowns on 28 carries.
While the score made this game look close (23-20), this game was far from it. The Denver defense was supposed to be amazing and truly tumbled. They could not tackle or stop the run. The Broncos also lost a touchdown due to a stupid taunting penalty. Emmanuel Sanders thought he had just scored a touchdown and wagged his finger in Troy Hill’s face. Unfortunately for Sanders, he was ruled down at the 1-yard line and the 15-yard penalty pushed them back to the 16. Instead of a touchdown (which would have given Denver the lead), they settled for a field goal.
On a positive note, the Broncos did get to Jared Goff a number of times. Von Miller recorded one and half sacks while rookie Bradley Chubb, the fifth overall pick, recorded three. The Broncos didn’t have any huge injuries, although safety Dymonte Thomas had a chest injury.
The Broncos are looking ahead at Thursday Night Football when they travel to Arizona to take on the 1-5 Cardinals. The Cardinals have really struggled this season and Von Miller has an attitude coming into this game. We’ll see if the Broncos can fix their defensive woes. Game time is 7:20 p.m.
