D.J. Alexander, Seattle Seahawks

Alexander was once a fifth round pick for the Chiefs who earned a Pro Bowl nod in his second season for his special teams play. Brett Veach shipped him off for Kevin Pierre-Louis in a rare player for player deal, but apparently both sides weren’t satisfied long-term with the player they received as both are now free agents for either side (or any other team for that matter) to pick up. Alexander played in 12 games last year for Seattle.

Alex Tanney, New York Giants

Known as the trick shot quarterback for his crazy videos on YouTube completing sensational passes off of weird object or in strange scenarios, Tanney has proven himself to be an interesting enough prospect to entice the Chiefs, Cowboys, Browns, Titans, Colts, Bill and Giants to take a closer look over the years. Tanney signed with New York just three months ago but failed to make the final team. However expect another team to sign him once an injury hits since quarterbacks are regularly recycled in the NFL.

KeiVarae Russell, Cincinnati Bengals

One of the bigger NFL draft mysteries in recent years for the Chiefs is wondering what exactly happened to KeiVarae Russell. The Notre Dame cornerback was a third round pick for John Dorsey and the Chiefs and then before the regular season, the team released him without any reason given. It was a high investment to make only to give up before he could even play a game that mattered, but the Bengals struck early and kept him ever since. Now, however, the loss doesn’t sting quite as much.

Knile Davis, Chicago Bears

The former Chiefs running back faced a serious battle to make the Bears since he only signed within the last couple weeks. He fared well enough as a returner in limited preseason action but the Bears were dealing with short-term injuries when they brought in Davis. However it’s another team who has him on speed dial which can’t hurt a veteran in such a competitive market.
