The Kansas City Chiefs are showing incredible depth
Terrance Mitchell
Then you have guys like Terrance Mitchell playing better each week filling in for cornerback Steven Nelson who is on the injured reserve for the first eight weeks. While Mitchell got beat a couple times last night vs Houston, he played a really good game. Both the big touchdowns he gave up were not because of bad coverage.
Both the big touchdowns he gave up were not because of bad coverage. The first one by Houston wide receiver Will Fuller was a deep shot that Mitchell should have had help over the top with. Fuller is one of the fastest wide receivers in the league and Mitchell did everything in his power to keep up and contest the catch.

The second touchdown by Houston wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was just an absolutely great catch. Mitchell even stripped the ball as they were coming down but Hopkins was able to catch it with his other arm before it hit the ground. Just an all-around great catch by Hopkins.
That wasn’t the case for much of the first three-quarters of the game though. Hopkins was attacking Mitchell after numerous plays showing his frustration with how well Mitchell was covering him. He is one of the most annoying corners to be covered by.
Like I said in my article on Mitchell over the weekend, Mitchell is a very physical cornerback with excellent timing to attack the catch point. He has great timing to make the hit as the receiver catches the ball or get his hands in there to knock the ball loose.
