An in-depth look at the Kansas City Chiefs final 53-man roster

At this point, every Kansas City Chiefs fan has to be asking one thing: “What happened?” This team went from Jamaal Charles, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West to West and a rookie. Of course, it helps that the rookie is one they traded up to get, one who has already been named the starter on this team. Kareem Hunt is the real deal and the Chiefs aren’t in a dire predicament if he’s as good as advertised, but it’s clear that the team needs more talent here and a veteran certainly wouldn’t hurt.
C.J. Spiller fit both of those requirements, but he was cut. He could return on a non-guaranteed deal, but that remains to be seen. Will the Chiefs work out a trade with a team with more talent? Will they show an interest in a free agent like Matt Jones or Ryan Matthews? Will they go back to a player they’ve had in the past with Knile Davis? Will they stay razor thin at the position or could they overload and add two new players? This position feels the most undone.
