Garrett Fugate, QB, Central Missouri

The Chiefs have done their homework on every top quarterback in the draft, hosting Mitchell Trubisky, Deshaun Watson, Josh Dobbs, DeShone Kizer, Patrick Mahomes, Nathan Peterman and several others. They’ve also done their work by checking out small school quarterback prospect Garrett Fugate with an interview and an invitation to their local day.

Fugate was the lone quarterback on the day, so he got plenty of attention from scouts and John Dorsey without any peers on site. Fugate has worked hard to overcome a knee injury to look solid enough at his recent pro day and the local pro day, and in the process he’s drawn interest from the Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers and the Chiefs. That’s a lot of attention for a quarterback from Central Missouri.

However, the attention is all for good reason. Fugate threw 31 touchdowns and 9 interceptions last year for the Mules, and he also showed off solid rushing ability with another 8 rushing touchdowns.
