NFL Draft 2017: Chiefs work out Central Missouri quarterback

The Kansas City Chiefs are working out a quarterback prospect close to home as they prepare for the NFL Draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already interviewed all of the top quarterbacks available in the coming draft, including Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes, but as they survey the field and set up the draft board in preparation for April’s NFL Draft, they’re also scouring fringe prospects for a hidden gem. The latest played close to home for the Chiefs, specifically for Central Missouri, as they will work out Garrett Fugate.

Fugate, who stands 6-3 and weighs 210 lbs., completed 271 of 425 passing attempts (63.8%) for 3,655 yards. He threw 31 touchdowns and 9 interceptions last year for the Mules. He also rushed 145 times for 457 yards and 8 touchdowns.
