Author’s Note: Before we begin this week, a little housekeeping note.  This will be my final article at Arrowhead Addict.  Beginning Monday, I will begin a new assignment writing for KC Kingdom, also on the FanSided Network.  For those who don’t know, KC Kingdom focuses on all the Kansas City area teams.

I have nothing but good things to say about my time here.  Matt Verderame has been great to work with/for.  I’ve enjoyed sharing opinions and arguments with the other writers, and even more so with you readers.

I will try to pop back by from time to time, but my new duties look as though they’ll take up most of my time.  I’ll still be predominantly covering the Chiefs, but will also be covering the Royals, Sporting KC, Mizzou, K-State, and KU.  I hope to see all of you on the discussion boards.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens managed to sign kicker Justin Tucker to a four year deal worth $16.8 million.

Buffalo Bills: The Bills have suffered a significant blow to their running game as running back Karlos Williams has been suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos finally came through and completed the deal for linebacker Von Miller that everyone knew was coming.  Despite all the rancor between the two parties in the weeks leading up to the contract, Von Miller seems very happy “to $tay in Denver”.  With Miller under contract, the team is now reportedly focused on wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, though they are not taken with the idea of paying him over $10 million per year.

  • Chiefs’ Take: Having to contend with Miller for the next several years isn’t something Chiefs quarterbacks will enjoy.  However, it does limit financial options for the Broncos when it comes to paying the rest of their talented players…Emmanuel Sanders being the first of them.
  • Author’s Take: A lot of people were out there claiming credit for knowing this would happen…yeah, duh, we ALL knew this would play out.  And we knew it back in February when Miller was hoisting a Super Bowl MVP trophy.
