Nick Wright brings up an excellent point about games 'being rigged for the Chiefs'

Why don't other teams pay the refs? Are they stupid?

Lost in the possibility for the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat is the conversations in the media and on social media about the Kansas City Chiefs "getting all of the calls". That's been the topic of conversation for quite some time now but it was revved up even more during the playoffs.

First it was DeMeco Ryans and Will Anderson Jr. of the Texans crying foul and claiming they knew they had to play against the refs as well. Now, after the Chiefs took care of business against the Bills, everyone is crying about the officiating from the AFC Championship Game.

Nevermind that the Bills got the ball back with over three and a half minutes on the clock, the refs clearly struck again and rigged this game for Kansas City. I guess Chiefs fans should be thankful, huh?

Well, First Things First co-host and Chiefs fan Nick Wright brought up a really good point during his appearance on The Dan Patrick Show.

"I don't think the games are rigged but for the people who do, I hope you have made as much money this year as I have betting on the Chiefs," Wright said. "Everyone's responding to these accounts and letting them dictate the narrative that are simultaneously saying this: 'The games are rigged' 'The fix is in' 'Can't wait till [the Chiefs] lose next week!'. Hey idiots, if the game's rigged, you can make a lot of money betting on this team as I have throughout the season."

Nick Wright urges people who think the games are rigged to bet on the Chiefs

Wright's argument is a pretty good one honestly. If all of these negative Nancy's out there think the game is rigged for Kansas City, why not make some money out of it?

The counterpoint to this is if you're buying into conspiracy theories is that then everyone will put their money on the Chiefs and then if the Eagles win, it's a huge victory for Vegas and the oddsmakers. Of course, there is no conspiracy and the games aren't rigged for the Chiefs but if people want to think that, let them.

The fact of the matter is that the Chiefs are no strangers to these big moments and the bright lights of these games and that helps them in crunch time. The Bills had a chance to bleed the clock, go down the field, and score to either tie or win the game and they couldn't execute. When the Chiefs are in those situations, more often than not, they're able to either win or send the game to overtime.

It's how the Chiefs handle themselves in the tight situations that helps them in these big moments. While other teams get in their own heads and melt down, the Chiefs are calm, cool, and collected. That's why they're on the cusp of three-peating and everyone else is complaining about it.
