For those on the outside, the primary talking point for months and months—perhaps even an entire year—concerning the Kansas City Chiefs has been obvious: the potential of a historic three-peat as Super Bowl champs.

No team in NFL history has ever won consecutive Super Bowl titles and then made it back for a third appearance. The Chiefs have already checked that box, giving them the bragging rights as the only franchise to claim such an achievement. That in itself will make sure they're forever mentioned in the conversation of all-time dynasties.

But there's more than that at stake, and everyone knows it. The media bring it up incessantly (as they should) since the potential of witnessing an NFL first is in front of everyone right now. These are Hall of Fame considerations. This is the golden era. The focus makes sense.

The latest New Heights episode is out and Travis Kelce dished about his Super Bowl thoughts.

But internally, the notion of a "three-peat" isn't so much of a focus. In fact, tight end Travis Kelce says, "We don't talk about it at all."

On the latest episode of New Heights, the uber-popular podcast hosted by Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, former All-Pro center for the Philadelphia Eagles, he opened up about the chance to make history. Instead of concentrating on it, he says the Chiefs' mindset is dramatically different—which is what has allowed for such achievements in the first place.

"We don’t talk about it at all. It hasn’t been mentioned one time outside of being asked about it in the media. Everybody in the building is just focused on doing their job. That’s how we got here. That’s how we got the first one. It’s how we got the second one. It’s the only way you can win football games and get to the Super Bowl is if you focus on the task at hand."

While doing his best to stay present, Kelce did admit he's just trying to soak in the moment and enjoy it, knowing that these moments are fleeting in the NFL and few players get to experience them at all.

"I’m feeling great, man. Life is amazing. It’s a crazy feeling to be this fortunate in a game that you’ve been playing your entire life. I’ve had a lot of heartbreak. I’ve had a lot of times that it hasn’t been this sweet. Right now, I’m just riding the high of living out this dream with my brothers and everybody in Kansas City."
