The Kansas City Chiefs have fielded a Top 6 offense in each of the past six seasons. The level of sustained success cannot be overstated, but there’s personnel work to be done to keep the unit humming along.

Last week, we began our discussion of the forthcoming free agency period by taking a look at the Kansas City Chiefs’ options on the defensive side of the football. Today, we’ll follow that up with a review of what the market may present offensively.

The offensive coaching staff has already undergone changes in the aftermath of winning Super Bowl LVII. The roster is certain to have a few new faces as well come Phase Two of KC’s offseason program.

Some reports are projecting approximately $12 million in cap space for the Chiefs once the new league year begins. That figure could be even higher once the front office makes decisions regarding extensions, any restructures, or roster cuts.

Kansas City presently has nine picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, but they’re expected to get a few more when the compensatory picks are announced. Maintaining draft flexibility appears to be something general manager Brett Veach places a high value on. A few well-placed extensions and additions could be a great primer in the lead-up to April’s draft.

With that in mind, let’s dig in and talk about how Veach and company can keep the shelves stocked for the No. 1 offense in the league.
