Five KC Chiefs players who stepped up against Broncos

Trent McDuffie is looking the part
When the Chiefs selected Trent McDuffie with the first of their two first-round selections, it was the biggest investment made at cornerback in several years by the team’s front office. Just like that, they had a high-ceiling corner who was pro-ready with instincts and athleticism that made scouts love his potential.
The downside for McDuffie is that a hamstring injury robbed him of most of the first half of the year, which really stunted his development at the NFL level and kept him from gaining any chemistry with his fellow rookie performers. That did mean that Joshua Williams and Jaylen Watson earned considerable snaps in his absence, but the Chiefs haven’t seen McDuffie as a game-changing playmaker to date.
That is until now.
On Sunday, the Chiefs employed McDuffie as a blitzer more than ever and it seems as if the coaching staff is learning how to use him in multiple ways. The results were incredible on Sunday. McDuffie was a major factor on defense, from his sack of Russell Wilson to key tackles to tight coverage.
Together with Sneed (and others), this young secondary is getting very good very quickly, and it’s all coming together at the right time.
