Blake Bell reminds us he’s back

For most of this season, Blake Bell has been a forgotten man. That happens fairly easily in the NFL when you’re a role player and especially so when you’re injured for months on end. But Blake Bell has been a key contributor at times for the Chiefs and Andy Reid reminded us earlier this week that he was going to be again. His coach turned out to be right.

On the first play of the fourth quarter, Bell caught a nice touchdown pass from Mahomes from 17 yards out to put the Chiefs up 20-17. It was a nice strike from Mahomes with an extra effort to get into the end zone by Bell, and it reminded Chiefs Kingdom that Bell has always been an asset down around the goal line as it is.

Bell has missed most of this season with a hip injury suffered in the preseason that Andy Reid once termed “unusual.” The Chiefs are unusually blessed at the position to have the depth and talent overall at tight end that they do with Jody Fortson and Noah Gray to go with the best in the game in Travis Kelce. However, that doesn’t mean that there’s no room for the Belldozer. We’re glad to see him back!
