KC Chiefs: Best players remaining on Day 2 of 2022 NFL Draft
By Evan Mead
Interior Defensive Linemen
Travis Jones
The Kansas City Chiefs have a need to continue adding depth and talent at the defensive tackle position. Beyond Chris Jones and Derrick Nnadi, there just isn’t much there. Part of that answer could come if the Chiefs select Travis Jones. Jones is one of the better defensive tackles in the draft and is a big, strong presence at 6’4, 325 lbs. inside. Given the Kansas City Chiefs’ draft position in the second round, Jones could be a primary target.
Perrion Winfrey
Perrion Winfrey was a well-known name throughout the draft process. However, it wasn’t until the Senior Bowl that Winfrey really took his talent to another level with a draft stock that projected him in the late first or second round. There’s loads of potential here for a team to work with even if he’s not as big as Jones and remains raw with his technique. If the Chiefs are able to land either Winfrey or Jones to play alongside Chris Jones, the interior would begin to shape into something special.
