EDGE. Jermaine Johnson. 16. 124. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. Florida State

(Projected Trade from Saints through Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles)

Surprised? Don’t be. This is not an impossible scenario. Jermaine Johnson is a very good player, but he is not on the same level as Tavon Walker, Aidan Hutchinson, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. If there is a slide to 16, look for Kansas City to be burning up the phone lines with the incredible draft capital that they have. With a number of offensive linemen and defensive backs coming off the board early, Johnson could slide a little bit.

Jermaine Johnson is an older prospect (already 23 years old) than the other top-end EDGE players. Although he is very capable, it is certainly possible that he slides due to other needs and a lack of the elite ceiling that the other EDGEs have. For the Chiefs, Jermaine Johnson is a perfect fit. With great length and explosive hips, the Chiefs would install him as the first string EDGE opposite of Frank Clark.

DT. Georgia. player. Pick Analysis. Devonte Wyatt. 17. 13. Scouting Report

The Chargers seem to always draft well. This pick is no exception. On some boards, Devonte Wyatt is the top defensive tackle. With good athleticism and bust, Wyatt is effective in all aspects of his game. He is solid against the run and shows capability as a pass-rusher. Wyatt may be the last missing piece of a very good Chargers defense.

The Chargers will have built a really nice roster from top to bottom with this move. In what was a weak spot last season in run defense, Wyatt offers a new strength. With Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Devonte Wyatt, the Chargers could quickly have one of the best units in the AFC on defense.

Garrett Wilson. player. 54. WR. Ohio State. 18. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

(From New Orleans Saints)

The Eagles have invested so much draft capital in their wide receiver room. Unfortunately, they have missed a lot of times. Garrett Wilson is the best remaining receiver at this point and is better than any of the receivers that they have drafted in the past several seasons. Wilson is a twitchy route runner that has tremendous potential as a receiver at the NFL level.

The Eagles added Derek Stingley in an early trade-up and now give another weapon to Jalen Hurts. If Philadelphia is dedicated to giving Hurts a chance, the addition of Wilson will prove to either be his rise or his fall.

Pick Analysis. George Karlaftis. 15. Scouting Report. EDGE. Purdue. 19. player

Sitting at pick 19, the draft board has fallen the way that they had hoped. After giving the Chiefs the pick to take Jermaine Johnson, the Saints grab their guy George Karlaftis. Karlaftis is a bruiser that has adequate athleticism and is very intelligent. With a little NFL development, he could be an asset to the New Orleans defense.

Karlaftis is 21, which gives him a lot of time to get it figured out. With some time to grow and develop behind or beside Cam Jordan, the Saints could have found a key piece to the future and gained more picks because they hypothetically like Karlaftis more than, or at the same level as Jermaine Johnson.
