Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs enjoyed their bye week this week. We saw posts of players enjoying time at other sporting events including Patrick Mahomes taking in the view of Sporting Kansas City’s crushing playoff loss. Regardless, it seems the team has rested and is ready to take on the last part of the season.

With that being said, we do have some questions as the team gears up to face the Broncos. First, what is the status of Lucas Niang? His rib injury kept him out of 2 games, so we await the practice report to see if he is making progress. Andy Reid had this to say:

As you can see, Reid also commented on the status of Kyle Long. Long has been on PUP all year due to a leg injury suffered during training camp. He was finally activated at the end of the 21 day window. In corresponding moves, the Chiefs placed Jerick McKinnon and Khalen Saunders on IR.

Ultimately, what will be most telling is the injury and practice report that will come out tomorrow as the Chiefs prepare to face the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football. The Broncos have their own set of problems heading in, but this is a big matchup. The AFC West race is extremely close right now and the Chiefs have a chance, over the next three weeks, to really put themselves in the driver’s seat. I think the Chiefs will probably continue their impressive streak against the Broncos – especially at a rocking Arrowhead in primetime.
