Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos faced the Los Angeles Chargers in a divisional showdown. I will not lie, I did not give the Broncos a chance in this game – the Chargers are a better team. However, I was absolutely wrong.

The star of the game was Pat Surtain II. He was incredible in the secondary and I’m fairly certain he will be giving Justin Herbert nightmares for years to come. He logged his first pick six in this incredible play:

The Broncos had some quarterback issues when Drew Lock had to step in for an injured Teddy Bridgewater. Lock showed why he was a backup in his performance. In addition, the offensive line suffered injuries to left tackle Calvin Anderson (knee), and left guard Dalton Risner (back). Their injuries will be important to watch in the coming week as the Broncos prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs.

Does this bode well for the Broncos? Probably not. The Chiefs have had extra time to prepare for the Broncos and injuries are a major concern. We’ll see what happens after Carrie Underwood serenades us into Sunday Night Football.
