Mecole Hardman, Wide Receiver

Position Rank: 79

Average Draft Position: UDFA

Explanation: Many people are on the fence about who will be the Chiefs wide receiver two, and so am I. Mecole Hardman has been given multiple opportunities in the past to display his talents, but so far he has underperformed expectations, and he now faces a key season in which he needs to prove what he can do. In terms of his fantasy value, that’s not a good projection at all.

  • 2019: 26 receptions, 538 yards, and 6 TDs for 115 fantasy points
  • 2020: 41 receptions, 560 yards, and 4 TDs for 121 fantasy points

There aren’t going to many people out there who’d take a risk on a player like Hardman with some of the other names available, and I don’t blame them. Hardman isn’t likely to be taken, even in the late rounds of the draft. Should he improve this season and produce statistically to make him a fantasy asset, he could be a worthy waiver claim. For now, given the other receivers available, Hardman shouldn’t be considered a drafted talent at this point in time.
