Tyreek Hill, Wide Receiver

Position Rank: 3

Average Draft Position: Mid-second round

Explanation: Looking back on Tyreek Hill’s career, it’s crazy to think how far he has come. From the start of his career to present, Hill’s growth curve is incredible and his journey from being a running back at OSU to a top tier NFL receiver is a story not mentioned often enough.

Hill’s electrifying speed was brought to the league in 2016 and quickly became the sort of model player that other teams would try to import. With phenomenal catch in traffic ability and great route running, he is easily one of the league’s best receivers.

Looking at the previous seasons he’s been apart of with Mahomes under center he’s had the following stats:

  • 2018: 87 receptions, 1,479 yards, 12 TDs for 306 fantasy points
  • 2019: 58 receptions, 860 yards, 7 TDs for 186 fantasy points
  • 2020: 87 receptions, 1,276 yards, 15 TDs for 317 fantasy points

In 2019, you do notice the regression statistically, but he missed multiple games with a shoulder injury. Having a bounce back in 2020 set him as a consensus top five receiver in the league without much debate. When it comes time for you to draft, pulling the trigger for Tyreek Hill has no bad effects, but keep in mind that the depth at receiver is much greater than running back.
