Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Denver to play the division rival Broncos. This was a wild game and one that both teams desperately needed to feel like there was hope for their teams. The Broncos have looked awful all year while the Chargers have continued to lose close games. It truly doesn’t matter who their quarterback is. They will always be the same team.

The Chargers jumped out to a huge lead on the back of Justin Herbert. Herbert has been playing fantastic. He is throwing dimes like this one:

Heading into the third quarter, the Chargers were boasting a 21-point lead over the Broncos, and it looked as if the Chargers were going to keep on cruising. Of course, the Chargers have an uncanny ability to blow any lead they might have and blow it they did. Drew Lock led the broncos to a last minute win and the Chargers have yet another improbable win to stew on.

The Chargers exited the game relatively healthy with only Joey Bosa leaving the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. Additionally, the Chargers became sellers at the trade deadline dealing Desmond King to the Titans for a 6th round pick.

Next week, the Chargers host the Raiders for the first time this season. The Raiders are playing good football and the Chargers like to lose. I don’t believe that the Chargers will pose too difficult a challenge for the Raiders. However, if the Chargers pass rush can get home, it could be a long day for Derek Carr. Herbert is playing well and I will be excited to see how he stacks up against a good division foe.

Game time is Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
