Around the AFC West: Raiders end the Chiefs win streak in Week 5

Los Angeles Chargers
The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to the Super Dome to take on the New Orleans Saints. This week, the Chargers officially named Justin Herbert their starting quarterback over Tyrod Taylor. I do feel bad for Taylor, but Herbert is playing so well that it would be a mistake not to start him. The Chargers continue to Charger in the way that only the Chargers can, so I guess that is the one thing that we can count on in this year 2020.
The Chargers got out to an early lead with some dimes from Herbert, but alas, that would not remain.
The Saints, with Hall of Famer Drew Brees, came back from a 20-3 deficit to rally and beat the Chargers 30-27 in overtime. What led to this loss? Well, of course, it was kicking issues. Not only did the Chargers miss an extra point early, they also had a chance to put it away in regulation; however, Michael Badgley doinked the field goal off the right upright as time expired.
In overtime, the Chargers lost the toss, but held the Saints to just a field goal. Herbert had a chance to lead them down the field, but Mike Williams was tackled just short of the first down at midfield on their drive. The Saints walked away victors as the Chargers fell to 1-4 on the season.
Most notably, Herbert became the first rookie to throw for four touchdowns on Monday Night Football, but that was overshadowed by yet another signature Charger loss. Additionally, wide receiver Keenan Allen left the game with back spasms. Luckily for the Chargers, due to schedule shifts, their bye is this week and they can rest up and get healthy before they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 25.
