The Chiefs received good news on Tyreek Hill’s leg injury.

On Thursday, Chiefs Kingdom caught its collective breath when the news came out that Tyreek Hill had left practice at Arrowhead Stadium with a leg injury. Late in the day, the team and its fan base could exhale a sigh of relief knowing that the injury was a minor strain of a hamstring.

NFL reporter Mike Garafolo shared the news that Hill would be okay on Thursday night.

While the Chiefs certainly have more weapons than most franchises on offense, no one is as dangerous to opposing defenses as Hill. Not only is Hill the fastest player in the NFL, but he’s done the developmental work to turn the corner into a well-rounded elite wide receiver, one who is in the conversation for best overall wideout in the league. Because of his incredible ability to run routes, win the contested catch, and create separation, Hill can be utilized by Andy Reid all over the field.

If anything summarizes Hill’s incredible career thus far, it’s the four consecutive Pro Bowl invitations he’s earned in his first four seasons in the league. In 2018, Hill also set the Chiefs franchise record for most receiving yards in a single season with 1,427.

Without Hill, the Chiefs can still turn to the likes of Mecole Hardman as a deep threat receiver, Sammy Watkins as a physical receiver outside, and Travis Kelce as a complete mismatch over the middle and up the seam. However, it’s Hill that puts this offense over the top—one that makes it impossible for even the best NFL teams to match up precisely.

Fortunately Hill has plenty of time until the team’s regular season opener on September 10 to rest.
