17. Dallas Cowboys – Javon Kinlaw, DL, South Carolina

Analysis by Arrowhead Addict contributor Drew Brooks

The Cowboys have a big need at secondary with the departure of Byron Jones, but with Xavier McKinney and C.J. Henderson off the board, their options are limited. They could’ve gone with corners like Kristian Fulton out of LSU or Jeff Gladney out of TCU, but at this point a better value is there at another position of need along the defensive line.

Javon Kinlaw is a 6’5, 315 lb. defensive tackle out of South Carolina who is just what the Cowboys need for their defensive line. He’s a guy who should be able to come in immediately for the Cowboys and start. He’s an excellent pass rusher who racked up six sacks this past season. He’s versatile and can be moved around the defensive line to fill gaps and rush the passer.

The Cowboys have a lot of holes on their roster to fill, but Javon Kinlaw is a start for them on the defensive line. They have more draft picks and a long draft ahead to work on the secondary and wide receiver position, but with limited options at pick 17, Kinlaw is someone who will instantly contribute and improve their defensive line.
