Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers traveled to Jacksonville to take on the Jaguars. The Chargers are bad, but they didn’t look bad on Sunday. The Chargers have no hope of the playoffs this year, so ultimately this is Philip Rivers playing for his job. Rivers certainly showed up and did so vocally. The Chargers laid a beat down on the Jaguars on Rivers’ 38th birthday.

This game was never in doubt. The Chargers controlled the game the whole time and handed the Jaguars their fifth straight loss while they stopped a three game skid. Rivers also threw a career long 84-yard touchdown pass to Austin Ekeler who continues to impress. This brought the Chargers to 5-8 on the season and a middle of the road draft pick as of right now.

The Chargers host the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and this game is sure to be tough. Minnesota is in a real fight for their division and cannot afford to drop a game if they hope to overtake Green Bay for the title. The Chargers likely do not have the firepower to keep up with the Vikings who look to get back star receiver Adam Theilen this week. I don’t see the Chargers taking this game and will likely be handed another loss.

Opening line odds for the Chargers in Week 15: +2.5.

Game time is 3:05 p.m.
