Dwyan Morgan, the Kansas City Chiefs fans who pointed a laser pointer at Tom Brady, avoided jail time after pleading guilty on Wednesday.
Everything to do with the AFC Championship game last winter is painful to look back upon. From the ultimate loss and inability to make the Super Bowl to the numerous close calls that should have went K.C.’s way, the whole thing is a subject we’d rather avoid. However, in the interest of wrapping a bit of further disappointing news from the moment, we’ve got an update on the insane laser-pointer guy.
Dwyan Morgan is the real name of the Kansas City Chiefs fan who pointed a laser in the face of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the actual game. It was an embarrassing moment often lost in the bitterness of the loss itself, but it certainly reflected poorly on the team’s fan base.
Our photographer, Turner Twyman, caught someone pointing what appears to be a laser pointer in Tom Brady's face last night. Play between the "muff" that wasn't and Sorensen int. @NFL, @Patriots and @Chiefs all told me they weren't aware of the incident. pic.twitter.com/ejWBQ6i64C

Fortunately authorities ended up identifying the man this past offseason and the Chiefs took immediate action against him. Not only did team officials decide to ban Morgan from Arrowhead Stadium for life, but they also brought charges against him—the ultimate punishment being up to a year in jail. However, TMZ Sports has word that the judge brought only a $500 fine against him after Morgan pled guilty to the charge of disturbing the peace.
Morgan immediately paid the fine and the matter is now considered closed.
