Pro Football Writers of America honor 3 Chiefs players on All-Pro team
The Pro Football Writers of America released its 2018 All-NFL team and three Chiefs made the squad led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The Pro Football Writers of America is an organization made up of credible writers that cover the NFL. On Tuesday, the group released their yearly All-NFL team and the list included three members of the Kansas City Chiefs: right tackle Mitchell Schwartz, tight end Travis Kelce, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Schwartz has been a huge asset to the Chiefs offensive line since he came over from the Cleveland Browns and has been one of the main reasons that the Chiefs are one of the top offenses in the league. In addition to being named to the PWFA’s All-NFL team, Schwartz also was named a 2018 first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus.

Kelce collects another spot on an All-Pro team in 2019. The electric tight end is having the best season of his career, and one of the best single seasons of a tight end in NFL history with 103 receptions for 1,336 yards and 10 touchdowns. Kelce has also been named to the Pro Bowl, a first-team All-Pro for the Associated Press, and second-team All-Pro for Pro Football Focus.
What more can be said about Chiefs second-year quarterback Mahomes? Mahomes is the frontrunner for the league’s MVP award, and he joined Peyton Manning as the only two quarterbacks to throw 50 touchdowns and throw for more than 5,000 yards in a single season. He’s also not done yet.
Mahomes was also named to the 2019 Pro-Bowl and first-team All-Pro for Associated Press and Pro Football Focus. He also led the Chiefs to their first home playoff win in 25 years and could be looking at a Super Bowl berth if the Chiefs can defeat the New England Patriots in Sunday’s AFC Championship game.
The awards keep coming in for the Chiefs, and they are probably not going to stop for a while. However, the Chiefs as a team have only one thing in mind and that is holding the Vince Lombardi trophy on February 3rd.
