SPENCER WARE

Ware, an undrafted running back out of LSU, has always answered when his name is called, but injuries have plagued him this season. After Kareem Hunt was abruptly released Ware took over the role as the featured back, but he quickly found himself on the injury report for a shoulder injury as well as a hamstring injury.

The bye will allow Spencer Ware to heal up to be at his best for the postseason. It appears that the Chiefs have passed the featured back role to former Dolphin running back Damien Williams. What this means for Ware is that he will be the backup to Williams, which is something that the Chiefs have needed. Darrel Williams and Charcandrick West are the only other available running backs, but they will not provide the on-field production that Ware can bring.

Getting Ware back for the postseason would be a huge boost for an already potent offense. Ware would be the perfect compliment to Williams who has been better than anyone could have predicted. Ware runs hard and has a knack for gaining the extra yards running north and south which is what the Chiefs will need if they want to make a deep run in the playoffs this year. This injury could be a big hit to the postseason chances if Ware is not able to return.
