Kareem Hunt featured on Kansas City Chiefs 2019 calendar

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt was let go at the end of November. But he is already part of the team’s 2019 calendar.

Well, this is awkward.

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt is no longer with the team. However, his name and photo have already been printed on the Chiefs’ 2019 calendar.

Hunt is the featured Chiefs player in the month of October.

The Chiefs released Hunt the same day TMZ published video of Hunt shoving and kicking a woman during the offseason. The Chiefs said in a statement that they released Hunt because Hunt “was not truthful” in discussing what happened during the incident.

The back of the team calendar writes that the calendar contains “bonus” months from September 2018 through December 2018, then the calendar goes on to 2019. Obviously, the calendar was created a couple of months before the video was published, which led to Hunt’s release.

Although team stores at Arrowhead Stadium, as well as stores that sell apparel, gear and other team-related merchandise, have pulled Hunt’s merchandise from shelves, you can still find the team calendar, which has Hunt. The calendar is available online through NFLShop.com, which can also be accessed through the Chiefs website. The calendar is also available at team stores at Arrowhead Stadium.

It is worth noting, the fine print does acknowledge that team calendars are made far in advance and it could include players who might not be on the team for the following year.

"The publisher has made every effort to ensure the accuracy of the date presented in this calendar edition. We cannot be held responsible for any errors, omissions or inconsistencies. Please note: All featured players are under contract at time of printing."

Obviously, this is not a calendar created by the Chiefs. If that was the case, one might wonder if the team would have made any effort to remove it from shelves and replace Hunt with a different player, given the fact that they were quick to release him after his actions were public.
