The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Arizona Cardinals this week. Will their extra week of preparation help them beat the 8-1 Chiefs?

The Kansas City Chiefs continued to roll through the AFC this week after beating the Cleveland Browns. The outcome of this game was not surprising for many even though some fans had begun to tout the game as a potential trap. Patrick Mahomes and company showed that they would not be overlooking any opponents and cruised to an easy win on the backs of Ohio natives Travis Kelce and Kareem Hunt. Hunt was able to rack up three total touchdowns this week, tying his highest single-game total for the season. While Kelce was able to haul in two touchdowns which included a fantastic catch on what was Mahomes best pass this season.

Mahomes also set his single-game passing record with 375 yards on the day. Mahomes has done an exceptional job of spreading the ball around as well. No one had over 100 yards receiving on Sunday, even so, the Chiefs currently have two players ranked top ten in receiving yards this season in Kelce and Tyreek Hill. Throw in the fact that Hunt is ranked third in rushing yards so far this season and you have the recipe for an amazing offense.

The Chiefs defense and special teams also had a good day. They were able to block a punt late in the game to give the offense a short field to go down and score. Overall it was just a dominant performance by Kansas City, which is what we as fans are excited to see. Chiefs fans have been nervous, and rightfully so after watching the collapse that the team went through last season. This year with Mahomes is proving to be different, at the halfway mark of the season he is regarded by many to be the most valuable player this season.

The best thing about this is that Kansas City, in the entire history of the NFL, has never had a player win MVP. If Mahomes was able to win such an incredible award in his first season as a starter, I don’t even have the words to convey how big that would be for this team.

Before we can worry about any of that, the Chiefs have an opponent to play this week. Kansas City will be heading back to Arrowhead this weekend to take on the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals are another team that has struggled all season long as they try and finds an identity after the retirement of Bruce Arians. The Cardinals have gone through some changes recently, so let’s jump right in and figure out if there is anything the Chiefs have to worry about this week.
