PITTSBURGH, PA – AUGUST 26: Ben Roethlisberger
PITTSBURGH, PA – AUGUST 26: Ben Roethlisberger /

Quarterback: Pittsburgh

Few will argue this. Ben Roethlisberger is a better quarterback than Alex Smith. Smith has thrown for 3,500 season yards only once in his career. Compare that to seven times for Big Ben. Roethlisberger has thrown over 25 season touchdown passes six different times. Alex has yet to reach that mark. Let us close this with those two Super Bowl wins Ben possesses.

Running back: Pittsburgh

More from Arrowhead Addict

Even if the Chiefs retained Jamaal Charles, Pittsburgh would still have the edge here. Leveon Bell is the reason. Let’s face it, most of us would give any three running backs for Bell in return. Spencer Ware definitely gets the job done, he falls quite short of Leveon Bell however. Depth wise it is no contest, the Chiefs have a much deeper core than the Steelers do. Ex Chief Knile Davis more than likely sits third on the depth chart behind 3rd round pick James Conner. Taking Charcandrick West and Kareem Hunt all day. Leveon Bell though…

Wide receiver: Pittsburgh

Antonio Brown leads a wide receiver group that is stacked with talent. Add Martavis Bryant, Eli Rogers, Sammie Coates, Darius Heyward-Bey, and rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster to go along with Brown and, well the Chiefs would take any of Pittsburgh’s 2nd string wideouts. Tyreek Hill is the next great thing, but the next great thing after Hill  on the Chiefs roster is Chris Conley. Not one of us know how he will turn out.

Tight end: Kansas City

Travis Kelce being on the roster automatically makes the Chiefs one of the best tight end groups in the NFL. Free agent addition Gavin Escobar brings great depth to an already young and talented squad. Pittsburgh seems as though they are comfortable with Jesse James as their starter. The depth chart below him is filled with names of men you have never heard.

Offensive line: Split

The Chiefs offensive line should be one of the best in the league this season. Literally all the snaps played last year are back. It would not be surprising to see at least three make the Pro Bowl. It is a very young group that is consistently getting better. The Steelers have had a solid O-line for a while now. Alejandro Villanueva came on strong the last half of the year. There is a guy named Pouncey in the middle that anchors pretty darn well.
