Outside Linebackers

Justin Houston – Without question the best outside linebacker on the team. Should push to show his value now that he is fully healthy.

Dee Ford – Starting outside linebacker in Hali’s old spot.

Tamba Hali – Most interesting OLB on the team. With Hali’s tweets before the season it’s very surprising to see him still on the PUP but he should be ready to go week one in a limited capacity.

Frank Zombo – Best of the rest of the options at OLB. He is reliable and always in position but not great getting after the passer.

Inside Linebackers

Derrick Johnson – All-Pro inside linebacker that is drinking from the fountain of youth.

Reggie Ragland – I’m still not sure what to say about this trade. I talked about it about 2 weeks ago on Locked on Chiefs but didn’t expect it to become reality. It makes complete sense and if he’s healthy the Chiefs really just took a big step forward on run defense.

Rakim Wilson – Until Monday he was the starter next to DJ. Still may start until Ragland gets up to speed on the defense.

Kevin Pierre-Louis – Great special teams guy probably in line to take DJ’s spot eventually.

Ukeme Eligwe – Another good special teamer. He will grow into the position this season.
