Cornerbacks

Marcus Peters – Superstar cornerback. Peters should take another step forward this season.

Steven Nelson – Clear number two corner last year and should be this year as well. Nelson gets a bad reputation but a lot of that is because teams have started throwing away from Peters.

Terrance Mitchell – I still think he’s CB3 on this team. He will play outside and the Chiefs will move Nelson inside when they have three CB’s on the field.

Phillip Gaines – He has stone hands so he will never be able to help with picks. If he could stay healthy he could challenge Nelson for his job.

DJ White – Struggling a lot more this season. Should be CB 5 but that’s more about special teams than defensive ability so maybe KC goes with Kenneth Acker.

Safeties

Eric Berry – Superstar safety. Heart and soul of the Chiefs.

Ron Parker – Very underappreciated as a starting safety in this league.

Eric Murray – I think Murray could be very good for this team moving forward. He’s extremely versatile and could let Berry play the line of scrimmage more in 3 safety sets to play the back end.

Daniel Sorenson – Great special teams player and a guy KC likes to use as a linebacker from time to time.
