Kansas City Chiefs work out LB Jamari Lattimore
By Matt Conner
The Kansas City Chiefs continue to work out options at linebacker, the latest being veteran Jamari Lattimore.
The Kansas City Chiefs continue to look for an unearthed gem at linebacker this offseason, as the free agent visits at the position continue this week, this time with Jamari Lattimore.
The 28-year-old linebacker will be familiar to Chiefs general manager John Dorsey from his final couple years with the Green Bay Packers given that Lattimore entered the NFL with the Pack in 2011 as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State University, where he played defensive end. He was named All-Sun Belt First Team his final year for the Blue Raiders when he had 11.5 sacks, 68 tackles and even two blocked kicks.

Lattimore remained in Green Bay until after the 2014 season, starting 9 games at outside and middle linebacker and playing in a total of 49 games. The New York Jets signed him for the 2015 season and Lattimore provided depth and special teams play in 15 of 16 games that season. He was then signed by the Buffalo Bills last offseason but was released before the regular season began. He didn’t play for any team in 2016.
The Chiefs have been holding multiple tryouts or even signing multiple players in recent days as they continue to look for the best linebacker addition. They released Victor Ochi to sign Tourek Williams only to release Williams four days later to sign Marcus Rush on Tuesday. They also recently claimed linebacker Reshard Cliett. Now they’re bringing in Lattimore for a look, so clearly the most recently inked players shouldn’t feel too secure about their new home.
