The Kansas City Chiefs have claimed linebacker Reshard Cliett off of waivers from the Tennessee Titans.

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to add some veteran competition in various spots, including inside linebacker which is where newly claimed LB Reshard Cliett will vie for coaches’ attention in the preseason. He joins the Chiefs after hitting waivers from the Tennessee Titans.

Cliett entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Houston Texans in the 2015 NFL Draft. After suffering a knee injury, the Texans released Cliett early into his rookie year and the linebacker subsequently landed with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals and Titans in the time since then. Expecting him to make any real impact with the Chiefs is a longshot at this point, but GM John Dorsey apparently sees something that he he likes.

The Chiefs released defensive back Jimmy Hall to make room for Cliett.

Cliett, a South Florida product, had 134 total tackles in his collegiate career in addition to 7 career sacks and 16 tackles for a loss.
