Defense

The next category is in two pieces: Fastest Sacks and Longest Tackles. Fastest Sacks is the time it took from snapping the ball for the QB to hit the dirt. Our own Derrick Johnson ranks at 18 with 2.58 seconds.

Next is longest tackles. This one is how many yards a player traveled to make a tackle. You’d think it’d be one of our DBs right? Well, plot twist, it’s an 84.41 yard long distance by Chris Conley when Spencer Ware fumbled the ball in week 2. This is good for Number 4 on this list.

What all this means for the Chiefs

Thanks to Next Gen Stats, Chiefs kingdom gets more proof that one of the fastest men on the football field happens to be on our roster. How lucky are we? Just imagine if Hill were elsewhere. We would be floundering worse than we already do sometimes. High top speeds, quick release throws, and explosive returns. These are after effects of the Chiefs’ newfound offensive identity: Speed. Red and Gold lightning bolts blinking in and out of vision as the scores rack up. There’s so much potential here.

What do you think Chiefs Kingdom? Next Gen Stats are pretty cool right? Stay loud, stay awesome, and Go Chiefs!
