Nick Foles is a likely candidate to be released by the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Buffalo Bills are a team that make sense as a logical next destination.

For now, Nick Foles remains a member of the Kansas City Chiefs roster. However, it’s believed he will eventually be released to create more salary cap room. When that happens, the Buffalo Bills makes sense as the next destination for the veteran quarterback.

Foles is going to make sense for any team seeking a new starting quarterback, either as a stopgap measure for a developing young arm or for a team who believe they can mirror Foles’ best years. It’s not a far-fetched venture, considering that Foles’ career numbers are solid overall (20-16 career record as a starter) and he’s still only 28-years-old.

Even just last year in limited duty, he won his only start for the Chiefs and threw 36 completions in 55 attempts (65.5%) for 410 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. It’s a small sample size, but Foles should definitely find a new place to start given the amount of needy teams at the position.

The Bills in particular make sense if they move on from Tyrod Taylor because of a familiar coach in David Culley. Culley served as the Chiefs’ wide receivers coach over the last four years, but he moved on this offseason to take a role as the Bills’ quarterbacks coach. He’s also been with Foles in previous years as a longtime member of Andy Reid’s staff in Philadelphia.

Certainly Foles will follow the money more than any coaching connections, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s starting for Buffalo in Week 1.
