Eric Berry earned an All-Pro selection last season with stellar play and an amazing return from Hodgkin Lymphoma but he is not alone as a solid player in this defensive backfield. Strong safety Ron Parker is constantly unheralded but he is possibly the best tackler of any of the defensive backs while also taking away the middle of the field.

The losses will hurt in 2016 as the Chiefs will keep their starters but lose their second tier guys who made a lot of plays this past season. Look for the Chiefs to continue to shift players around in camp to find the best combination with the absence of Berry. Guys like Sorensen, Murray, Fleming, and Cooper will need to step up big to fit the packages that Bob Sutton likes to run such as blitzing, run support up on the line, and taking on tight ends one-on-one.

There will be major growing pains for this entire defensive backfield but the Chiefs could be fielding one of the youngest defenses for years to come which will be a major plus when it comes to salary cap.
