Chicago Bears: The Bears have signed tight end Tony Moeaki to help fill the void left by the loss of Martellus Bennett this offseason.

  • Chiefs’ Take: Injuries marred Moeaki’s time in KC, but there’s no doubt that he’s talented.  But the most important ability is availability…and that’s the one thing he’s never had in the NFL.

Dallas Cowboys: The Cowboys waived a pair of defensive backs in Terrance Mitchell and Brandon McGee.  McGee will miss the entire season with an undisclosed injury.

Cowboys running back Darren McFadden will also be out for a while after having surgery on his elbow…which he broke trying to not drop his iPhone.  Another painful injury is to that of defensive lineman Benson Mayowa who was supposed to be filling in while the team dealt with suspensions to multiple starters.  On a possibly positive note, offensive guard Ronald Leary did report for minicamp despite his demands for a trade.

  • Chiefs’ Take: The Cowboys were often considered a potential trading partner for the Chiefs with Knile Davis.  If McFadden ends up not healing up in time for the season (a very possible scenario given his history), Dallas may end up having to follow through on that.
  • Chiefs’ Take

: The Chiefs still have an unresolved situation at left guard that Ron Leary would be an excellent solution to.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos have signed linebacker Brandon Marshall to a four year contract extension.

    • Author’s Take: With Danny Trevathan and Malik Jackson gone, the middle of the Broncos defense will have a lot of work to do.  Marshall is an important extension.

Detroit Lions: The Lions have signed veteran wide receiver Andre Roberts to a one year deal.  The team also waived wide receiver Corey Washington with an injury designation.

Houston Texans: Texans priority UDFA cornerback Richard Leonard will miss the season with a hamstring injury.
