Tamba Hali

Tamba Hali has been a staple of the Chiefs defense for the better part of a decade. Hali was selected 20th overall by the Chiefs in the 2006 NFL Draft, and has been a beast on the field for the team. Hali averages 8.6 sacks per season over the last ten years; he has been a fan favorite and is an all-around good guy.

But, Hali is older now. He is currently 32 years old and injuries have made the once fierce defensive star a little slower and a little less effective. However he still had a great 2015 season forcing two fumbles and getting 6.5 sacks all while dealing with some injuries. He even took a pay cut to stay with the team last year, because he loves being a member of the Chiefs.

The reality is that unless Tamba is willing to take a lower contract for the next few seasons he will likely find himself playing elsewhere in 2016. This is a sad realization. Hali brings experience to the field and he gives it his all whenever he laces up his cleats. Unless Hali is willing to once again take less money the sad truth is he might be done in Kansas City. But, at the same time, they know how valued he is to the team and hopefully a short-term deal can be reached.
