Hello Addicts, and welcome to another week of NFL news and rumors.  While we are still in the doldrums of the NFL offseason, we got flooded with stories this week!  The NFL has apparently decided to use this week to start announcing suspensions, which always makes for good Twitter takes (you can catch mine @citadelchief)!

More from Arrowhead Addict

So let’s get to it…

Atlanta Falcons:  Reports from league sources are claiming that the Falcons are the top team looking at Clemson offensive tackle, Isaiah Battle, in the supplemental draft.  The Falcons have been dealing with offensive line struggles for some time.

Chiefs’ take

: With the current uncertainty on the Chiefs offensive line, it wouldn’t be surprising if John Dorsey submitted a later round bid on Battle despite off field concerns.

Buffalo Bills:  Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin is a phenomenal athlete…no, like for reals.  Goodwin recently placed 4th in the long jump at the US Nationals.  Goodwin has always maintained that track is his first love, and there is some speculation that the receiver could have a shot at the Olympic Games in Rio.  Had Goodwin placed in the event, he would have missed part of the Bills training camp, and possibly even an August 25th preseason game due to the World Championships.  The Bills also signed former Jets offensive tackle, Wayne Hunter.  Signing a rival’s cast offs is actually a pretty common practice this time of year.  Fringe NFL players recognize they can get a quick pay day for simply telling what they know about their former team.

Chiefs’ take

: There are a number of Chiefs players who are also considered world class track athletes.  Both Jammal Charles and DeAnthony Thomas have garnered multiple accolades, but neither still actively competes.

Dallas Cowboys:  The Cowboys will be starting the season without linebacker Rolando McClain who was suspended by the NFL for failing a drug test.  McClain resurrected his career last year in Dallas, but now appears intent on re-wrecking it.  In an far more embarrassing issue, former Cowboys safety, CJ Spillman, has been officially charged with sexual assault stemming from a 2014 incident at a hotel being used by the Cowboys.  The Cowboys kept Spillman on the roster last season despite allegations.  The lack of action on the part of the Dallas franchise has sparked outrage from some, especially considering the incident took place while he was at the team hotel.

Green Bay Packers:  The Packers will open the season against rival Chicago without former first round defensive end, Datone Jones.  Jones was suspended for one game due to violating the league’s policy against banned substances.  The one game suspension means that the incident occurred without a failed drug test.
