Good morning, Chiefs fans! Here is your weekly recap of the news from around the league. It was a relatively slow week for most of the league as a majority of the teams are conducting OTA practices with little contact. But there were certainly a couple of big headlines to grab your attention.
So let’s get to it…
Arizona Cardinals: Quarterback Carson Palmer was cleared to practice and was immediately handed back the reigns of the Cardinals offense on Tuesday. The Cardinals have interesting backup options in Drew Stanton and Logan Thomas, but neither will unseat Palmer as the starter.

Carolina Panthers: Second year wide receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, returned to practice after missing the first couple of weeks of OTAs. Benjamin was suffering from a hamstring injury, but appears to be progressing well in his recovery. The Panthers kept him limited, but expect him to be a full participant soon.
Cincinnati Bengals: Second year defensive end, Margus Hunt, will miss the remainder of OTAs and minicamp due to a back injury. Hunt stated that he hopes to return for part of Bengals training camp. This is a huge blow for Hunt who was in a very important offseason for his career development.
Cleveland Browns: The Cleveland Browns have decided to give the early starting quarterback job to veteran Josh McCown. With all of the offseason drama that has followed Johnny Manziel, plus the questions in his game on the field, this really isn’t a tremendous surprise. It’s just…well, it’s just football in Cleveland.
Tony Romo is having a very bad day with his fantasy football team.
Dallas Cowboys: I was actually going to avoid ever talking about this…because nobody cares about your fantasy football team. Except that now…apparently people do. Tony Romo and the NFL are going back and forth over the Dallas quarterback’s fantasy football convention that was being held in Las Vegas. Yes, really. This, of course, has led to every media person’s dream. Memes, videos, trolling by the NFL, conspiracy theories…it’s been non-stop fun for anyone who writes about sports. And come on, that fantasy football commercial is just absolutely perfect now.
Denver Broncos: Star wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is expected to skip Broncos minicamp. Thomas and the Broncos are currently in talks about a new contract, and the wide receiver is not expected to return to team activities until the new contract is finalized.
