NFL Draft 2015: Kansas City Chiefs’ most pressing needs
By Brett Gering
Offensive Tackle
Eric Fisher is cemented on the left side, but right tackle remains a mystery. And while Donald Stephenson and (potentially) Jeff Allen are capable stopgaps, neither have lived up to pre-draft expectations.
Make no mistake, center and (right) guard are starving for stability too. But the Chiefs have at least four players who can fill the latter need, and while the following should never be used as a gauge, Eric Kush finished the 2014 preseason as Pro Football Focus’ No. 3 center (subscription required).
Regardless, as long the NFL is a pass-oriented league, tackles will always hold more value than their interior cohorts. And based on the past, Kansas City’s answer—at least on the right side—isn’t on the roster.
